1.In Thee alone, in Thee a lone is light for all;

O let this light up on me fall!

The night is blest , the night is blest with starry gleams,

The cheer of Hope's celestial beams. 

2.The world was dark, the world was dark the dark  in strife and woe

When dawned Thy star with radiant glow.

And never more, and never more Thy holy light  

Shall leave us blind in error's night.  

3. The darkness  failed, the darkness before the ray 

Of Truth's own bright supernal day.  

In Thee alone, in Thee alone is light for all;

O let this light upon me fall!
